Our aim was to develop a high-power electric motor for utility vehicles which is ultra-light and small, highly efficient, low-noise, but also cost-effective.

The idea behind it was to be able to use the motor inside vehicles with very limited build in space, with minimal losses, but also low noise and vibration.

The result:The MMA Electric Motor

MMA consists of liquid-cooled and air-cooled permanently excited synchronous motors (PMSM) and was developed especially for mobile applications. In the development of this motor series, the emphasis was placed on determining the optimum between power density, efficiency, noise and cost.

Compared to conventional standard motors, the MMA series is up to 6 times lighter and 4 sizes smaller, with a length reduced by up to 75%.

To cover the entire range of mobile applications, the MMA motor series is designed for different voltage levels. The MMA series includes 34 VAC (48 VDC-Link) to 600 VAC (850 VDC-Link) versions.

The all-in-one systemwith integrated inverter

The new plug-and-play version of the MMA series with integrated MOTEG HV inverter has been specially developed for practical use in mobile applications.

Ideally suited as an electromechanical power take-off (emPTO) solution – for example, to drive hydraulic pumps. Additional components such as DC/DC converters or AC motor cables are not required.

The idea was to be able to use the motor where it is necessary to realize a drive in a very small space with low losses and at the same time low noise and vibration.

The result is: The MMA-80 motor series. MMA consists of liquid-cooled and air-cooled permanently excited synchronous motors (PMSM) and was developed especially for mobile applications. During the development of this motor series, the emphasis was placed on determining the optimum between power density, efficiency, noise and cost.
