E-motor specialist MOTEG with new branding by SMACK Communications
Wednesday, January 6, 2021, Launch of new website and new corporate design for one of the most innovative German developers and manufacturers of electric drive systems
MOTEG develops and produces electric motors and auxiliary units for mobile applications that are many times smaller, lighter, quieter and more powerful than those currently available on the market. MOTEG’s development time is also generally 3 times faster than that of other suppliers.
This technological advantage now also reflects in its entire communication. Starting with the new company logo and the claim “Electric Drive Engineering” through to the complete redesign of the branding and pictorial style and the recently launched company website at www.moteg.de.
“Our customers come from the automotive sector, currently mainly commercial vehicles, and from the aviation sector. SMACK Communications supported us with our positioning and then translated this very well into a differentiating branding,” says Dr. Siegfried Götz, company founder and managing director of MOTEG.
MOTEG is one of the few e-motor manufacturers that are also certified for aviation. The company has ambitious growth targets, particularly in the automotive sector, in Europe, the US, Australia and Asia.
The launch of the new website marks an important milestone for the company’s next development steps and the further expansion of its product portfolio. E-mobility is a global megatrend and growth market. As an innovative and agile company with high development potential, the core target groups of the new website are customers and investors.
“We are passionate engineers and want to build the best electric drives for mobile applications. The new website is an important sales channel for this,” affirms Henning Brodersen, Technology Director.

Foundation stone laid for new MOTEG production site
09/2020 – Handewitt
At the beginning of September, the foundation stone was laid for MOTEG’s new production hall in Handewitt near Flensburg. This is where MOTEG’s e-motors, electric compressors and power steering pumps will be produced and built from spring 2021. Compared with the existing production site, this will triple MOTEG’s production capacity to up to 50,000 units per year, thus meeting rising customer demand.
From the fall of 2021, MOTEG’s development, management and all other departments will also be relocated to the new site. For this purpose, the construction of an additional building will take place on the site from spring 2021.
EU supports MOTEG for its contribution to the European Green Deal
The European Innovation Council (EIC) has funded MOTEG GmbH for its innovative electric compressors and power steering pumps for electric buses and trucks. The background to this is MOTEG’s contribution to future-proof and sustainable mobility in the commercial vehicle sector.
New MOTEG Shareholder
MOTEG GmbH entered into a close cooperation with the strategic investment firm of the Hirschvogel Automotive Group, Ceravis Incubation GmbH, on August 8, 2019. To this end, Ceravis took a stake in MOTEG GmbH.
Dr. Siegfried Götz, founder and majority shareholder of MOTEG GmbH, and Ceravis Incubation GmbH, as the second largest shareholder of MOTEG GmbH, will in future work in close coordination to shape the future of MOTEG GmbH, towards becoming a globally recognized company in the context of the electrification of mobility.
The background to this partnership is, among other things, that MOTEG has already made a name for itself as a young, innovative company in the field of electromobility and will support the Hirschvogel Group in the future with its excellent know-how in the area of electric motor development and production in various product developments. Furthermore, MOTEG has developed a technologically leading product with its auxiliary units (power steering pump, air compressor) for electric commercial vehicles, which is now in demand worldwide. Market studies show that the global annual market potential for these products will grow into a billion euro market in the future. As a globally established supplier to the automotive industry, the Hirschvogel Group will support the global scaling of MOTEG products and their production.
